How
do you become an BFHI Assessor and/or Educator?
Assessments of facilities need to
be consistent in standards and reflect the philosophy and processes
as determined by the BFHI National Committee and other major stakeholders
on a consultative basis and authorised by the ACM. A definitive
authorisation process will ensure consistency. Assessors
should have contemporary knowledge of BFHI and evidence based lactation
management. An assessment team will include at least one specialist
in clinical lactation management, with other member/s selected for
their experience in working with breastfeeding mothers
To be considered as a BFHI Australia
assessor, individuals need to meet the following criteria:
- Attendance at an authorised 10 hour
BFHI workshop conducted by BFHI accredited educators
- Names and contact details of two
referees

the area of lactation and breastfeeding - Minimum of 25 hours
in past five years.
- Evidence of one of the following:
- BFHI supporter
- Subscription to a breastfeeding
orientated journal

local community breastfeeding support group
If you are interested and would like to
